There are more than 20 Land and Coastal Care groups working in the Tweed to restore approximately 200 hectares of bushland along creeks and rivers, wetlands, hill tops and coastal dunes.

Some groups meet several times a week while others meet once a month.

Protecting Tweed coast's creeks and creatures

Dolphin Research Australia seeks to protect dolphins, whales and porpoises through research, education and conservation.

Green Heroes cares for underwater flora and fauna, including within Jungarra Ngarrian (Cook Island) aquatic reserve.

The Tweed River OzFish chapter is a vibrant community of anglers dedicated to preserving Tweed River habitats.


Caring for wildlife and species protection

Tweed Valley Wildlife Carers rescue, rehabilitate and release native fauna, while also encouraging habitat conservation.

Team Koala Tweed seeks to protect the remaining koala populations of the Tweed Shire and surrounds.
